Send us your flight data through our secure service where we will put our staff with more than 90 years of combined experience in Flight Data Analysis to work for you. Within five business days (normally less), we will provide you with a complete, easy to understand report of all mandatory parameters from your FDR System. We will even maintain an FDR readout history for you as long as you remain a customer. It is one less thing you need to worry about so you can focus on getting your aircraft back in the air. And we do all of this at a fraction of what it would cost to do it in house.

MAJOR CAPITAL COST
Expensive, specialized software is required. This software can cost from (US) $15,000 to $50,000 or more, plus annual maintenance fees (normally 20% of the software cost).
PERSONNEL TRAINING REQUIRED
Specialized software requires specialized training and personnel. Software system training normally costs extra. If there are any changes to your parameter conversions, the software vendor normally charges extra to update these.
This is an infrequent task for the typical aircraft operator and personnel can spend significant time “reviewing the process”. If there are staff changes and a new technician must operate the software, the process becomes even more cumbersome.

We do the analysis work for you and provide an easy to understand report through a user friendly website. We keep our software and your aircraft parameter conversions up to date on your behalf at no additional cost.
We look at flight data every day and stay up to date on the latest technologies and requirements. In urgent situations, AOG for example, we can even provide a quick turnaround to meet your time sensitive requirements.
How Does it Work?
At Scaled Analytics, we want the Flight Data Recorder Readout process to be as simple for our customers as possible. We think it is easier than using online banking:
- Data is downloaded from the Flight Data Recorder on the aircraft, normally onto a handheld download device. (We can even help you obtain FDR download equipment if you require it).
- The downloaded data file is uploaded via our secure website.
- One of our highly experienced analysts will evaluate the data. On completion of the evaluation, a full report along with the converted engineering units data listing will be made available on your web site account.
- All specified personnel at your organization will receive an email and/or SMS notification that your readout report is complete and available in your web site account.
- Authorized users log into the website and download the results. This can even be done from most smart phones.
Can I sub-contract the readout?
We recommend that you check the regulations for your specific country of operations, but most regulatory bodies permit the sub-contracting of readouts to a knowledgeable and experienced organization.
When can I expect my results?
Our policy is to post results to the website within five business days of receiving your data. However, in most cases results are available within two to three business days. In urgent cases, such as an AOG condition, contact us and we will try to establish a turnaround that meets your requirements.
Do I need to send my recorder?
It is not necessary, nor efficient (due to shipping costs, time and risks) to send us your recorder. If you do not have the capability to download the data from your recorder while it is installed in the aircraft, please contact us and we will be happy to provide advice on the most efficient way to proceed.
Is the readout the same as the maintenance serviceability check?
The FDR System Readout is not the same as an FDR maintenance check. The FDR maintenance check requires the recorder to be sent to an approved maintenance and overhaul organization to have the recorder physically checked and repaired (if necessary). It is a check of the FDR not of the FDR System as required by the regulations.
Scaled Analytics does not provide this service, but we do have partners that provide it and you can still store your results in our system if you wish to benefit from it.
